Colon Cancer Prevention Project Run Walk Event

The Challenge

The Colon Cancer Prevention Project (CCPP) had been operating their Annual Walk Away from Colon Cancer & 5K Run for 5 years and saw their fundraising revenues plateau at $50,000. CCPP needed to boast their revenue from the Annual Run Walk event to help fund their much needed growth requirements. CCPP also was not positioned for Online and Peer-to-Peer Fundraising and needed to implement the core technologies to engage in the new giving economy.

The Solution

Colon Cancer Prevention Project engaged Dean Dorton Nonprofit Solutions to implement merchant services, Sage Payment Solutions, in conjunction with Abila Fundraising Online. The team implemented a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign individuals could build teams and have their own team fundraising pages. CCPP launched the event with a simple social media push and then let the new Web 2.0 tool set take off.

The Result

The Colon Cancer Prevention Project (CCPP) in each of the two succeeding years in implementing Abila Fundraising online raised their annual event goal by $25,000 each year.

Just thought I’d let you know Hand in Hand finished 2nd out of 378 non-profits and took in over $14,000 online yesterday. We have matching gifts coming of $11,000 and I think we’re going to get $2,250 from KNN/Razoo for placing second.
Great day and we couldn’t have done it without our website.
